Top 5 Travel Makeup Essentials

To be honest, when travelling I don't wear any makeup at all as the airplane already makes your skin bad enough. But once you land you do want to look at least semi-decent so here are my top 5 makeup essential when travelling.

#1 Concealer  Let's be real, you've just come out of a flight and the dark circles under your eyes aren't really helping you look more awake. An easy fix is concealer and I have been loving the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer. I am not a fan of heavy foundation or concealer so this one is right up my alley. It is so lightweight and not cakey at all, so just popping this under your eyes is perfect. It has a sort of radiance to it, and you don’t feel that heavy, cakey feeling.

#2 Powder  Nobody wants to be looking like an oily mess so the next step is to powder. Just lightly powder your T-zone which tends to be the oiliest area. I've gone for another Rimmel product which is the Stay Matte powder. Everyone already knows and raves about this product, and I do too. It's so cheap but actually gets the job done, and can be found basically everywhere.

#3 Brows  I think doing your eyebrows is the easiest way to add something to your face. I love benefit gimme brow as it is super quick and easy to use, and they actually have a new packaging now which looks so good. There are also many great eyebrow gels from drugstore brands such as Rimmel and Maybelline.

#4 Mascara  I find that mascara really opens up your eyes, making you look more awake (as you can see, there is a reoccurring theme of trying to make yourself look awake haha). You don’t need eyeshadow, eyeliner or anything else, mascara is great for adding that something extra to your eyes.

#5 Lips  To finish it off, add something to your lips. Whether you just want a good chapstick as they're pretty dry now after the flight or you want to be more dressy with a lipstick, either is perfect. I really like liquid lipsticks as I find they're a perfect inbetween - it gives you the colour of a lipstick but it's still very moisturising and doesn't dry your lips out.
