As the summer holidays have drawn to a close, I thought I'd do a roundup of all the things I've loved over the last couple months.
CLOTHES + BITS
Men's section clothing - I find that I'm leaning more towards the men's section in clothing stores, because the I prefer the style and designs which are much simpler, and I like the whole oversized fit.
Mom jeans - these have been my absolute favourite thing to wear! I have completely converted from skinny jeans to mom jeans.
High-waisted shorts - only recently did I buy a pair of high-waisted shorts, which I think are more flattering, especially as I tend to tuck most tops in.
Gold jewellery - over summer I've purchased quite a few bits of gold jewellery, and find it looks so lovely with a tan.
MAKE UP STUFF
Black pencil eyeliner - adding some black eyeliner on your upper waterline or lash line makes your eyes pop and your lashes look thicker. I think it makes a huge difference in your eyes.
Eyebrow pencil - as I like makeup to be as quick as possible, I find using an eyebrow pencil instead of powder much more quicker, and can look so natural.
FOOD
Real Fruit ice cream - nothing says summer more than ice cream. A little ice cream store just opened on Mt Eden, so it's a great reason to do some exercise.
Acai bowls - as I went to Hawaii, of course breakfast consisted of acai bowls. They are so delicious and a refreshing way to begin the morning.
Avo toast - this sounds like your basic breakfast, but adding salt, pepper, a couple of basil leaves and olive oil makes all the difference in the world (thanks Claud for introducing this heavenly combo to me!!)
MAGAZINES
frankie magazine - when I feel like I need some inspiration or a boost in creativity, frankie magazine is the ideal thing to read. It's filled with beautiful photography and articles to read.
TV + FILMSThe End of the F***ing World - an absolutely hilarious tv show about a young girl and boy's adventure, which I finished way too quickly. Reminds me a lot of Wes Anderson films.
Call Me By Your Name - this is a beautiful and artistic film which I discovered not long ago. Has made me fall in love with Timothée Chalamet. Also I have been playing the song "Master of Love" from the soundtrack nonstop on repeat.
Lady Bird - probably one of my favourite movies now. So relatable as just like the protagonist, I'm in my last year of high school figuring out what to do with my life. This is the kind of film which just makes you smile.
WHAT TO DO
Spontaneous drives - with a lot of my friends having gotten their license, I've often found myself in a friend's car, having the best chats for hours.
Video calling - instead of texting I now tend to use Facebook's video calling a lot which I prefer so much more. It's so much better to talk face-to-face, even if it is through a screen, than just text.
Taking public transport - I have to admit I've been so bad with learning bus routes, trains etc but over the summer I decided I gotta learn someday and have been doing so. For starters, it's a great way to get around, but also I find it so calming with putting your earphones in and just watching the traffic go by.
Dinner on the beach - take your dinner down to the beach and watch the sunset. It's beautiful.
Pride Parade - just the other night, I went along to the Pride Parade with my friends and it was honestly the happiest, most uplifting evening with hundreds of smiling faces.
