My Airport Essentials

Whenever I go on holiday I always get so excited and can’t wait to pack! But when I start to pack I can’t remember what to pack (does this happen to you? haha). I always search posts to help as I find these all very handy dandy. So, for today’s post I’m going to be doing My Airport Essentials.

The Basics

Carry-on bag
I find that for your carry-on bag you don’t want a bag too big or too small. My one is from Country Road and I find it the perfect size as it can fit in all your essentials. It also has a smaller zip pocket which is great for your smaller things.

Ticket wallet
This kikki.K wallet (in the photo above) is PERFECT for travelling. There are different compartments which make it all so easy and organised. I think that having all your tickets and things together just make everything so much easier.

Earphones
Perfect for listening to music.

Phone
Ofcourse you need your phone (although remember to turn it onto flight mode!). Sometimes on long flights I take photos of the amazing sunrise and sunsets.

Gum/Mints
Not only do they give you minty fresh breath on long flights, but they also help prevent your ears from being blocked and hurting like mad (which happens to me a lot).

A good book
A good book is always great to read on the airplane.

Beauty

Makeup bag
Makeup bags are great to store all your beauty items to keep them all together rather than have them muddled at the bottom of your bag. You can literally get them for so cheap (I have the cutest one from Primark that I got for about £2 ).

Moisturiser
Moisturiser is my TOP ESSENTIAL (and lip balm too). I stupidly forgot moisturiser and lip balm on two linked 12 hour flights and my face and lips were SO dry I can’t even explain. My favourite is the Clean and Clear moisturiser which is oil-free and helps prevent pimples. You could either go for pimple-control if your having a bit of a spotty time or just the normal essentials one.

BB Cream (optional)
Good if you’ve got a few spots. If not then definitely don’t use any makeup at all. I’d only bring this if you have to be somewhere straight after the flight and to use after the flight as I don’t see the point in flying with a full face of makeup on. BB Cream is good as it’s moisturising, has SPF in it and gives a light coverage.

KIKO Brow Kit (optional)
Again, if you have somewhere to be after then bring this. I think that if you could only go for one makeup item it would be for your brows. Your brows frame your face and just a bit of BB cream, great brows and lip balm can make you look good and put together. I really like the KIKO Brow Kit because it comes with a lighter shade, darker shade and a mousse as well as tools - a spooley brush, tweezers, a mini angled eyebrow brush and a mirror. The perfect kit all in one mini compact.

Lip balm
Lip balm is my other top essential. It is vital that you bring one because the airplane just dries you out. I love the Lucas Paw Paw Ointment which is my top lip balm because it just moisturises your lips so well. Because this is an Australian brand it may be very hard to get this if you’re not in Australia or New Zealand so another option are the Maybelline Baby Lips. If you want to go for a more fancy pancy option then I recommend The Body Shop lip balms. It smells and tastes amazing. These are moisturising lip balms that are so glossy that it looks like a clear lipgloss.

Hand Sanitiser
You honestly never know what had happened on the plane so I just like to keep extra sanitised with hand sanitiser. Most airplanes give you cleaning towlettes which I find super handy.

Hand cream
I’ve said moisturise so many times by now haha but it’s because it is so important! This MOR hand cream is great as it moisturises your hands, keeping them nice and soft.

Deoderant
After a long flight you might be going a little bit stinky so deodorant is good to have just in case.

Body mist
Body mist is good for after flights. I like Victora’s Secret body mist called Coconut Passion. Smells amazing and is very light so it’s good to freshen up after a long flight.

So these are all my airport/carry-on essentials. I hope this has helped you in some way and I’ll see you very soon in my next post!
