Gift boxes
You can buy gift boxes or even just keep them from previous gifts. There are so many pretty designs and colours out there to match your room. Storing bits and pieces here is a great way to hide and store your clutter. I actually really like the look of 3 tiers of different sized boxes stacked.
Tins
If you didn’t know already I am a HUGE fan of vintage tins. You can buy vintage tins or maybe your mother or grandmothers have tins from when they were younger. I have only one real vintage tin which is a Fishermen’s Friends Mints tin from when I was about 7ish, and it’s sort of rusted and looks really cool now. I like the smaller tins for things like rings or earrings and the bigger tins for storing all my larger jewellery. Anyway tins are so pretty to keep in your bedroom for storing little bits and bobs.
Jars
Sometimes, especially with more colourful clutter like stationary or nail polishes, storing these things in jars look so cool. You could slot them anywhere - in a bookshelf, on your desk or on a shelf. I think that having a row of jars of different things either multicoloured or colour coordinated looks very polished.
Plant pots
I think if you use vintage plant pot it’s such a nice way to store your things, especially with makeup brushes. It’s much more than your usual acrylic ones and a lot of vintage plant pots have such lovely prints.
Teacups
Using teacups to store bits is probably one of my favourite creative ways. Finding a place to put your smaller things like rings or bobby pins can be quite difficult to find but teacups are such a pretty and simple way to store them.
Saucers
I love storing little bits in saucers as they are perfect to display things without looking cluttered. Rings, watches, bracelets - they all look so nice in saucers! And again, there are a lot of pretty designs that you can get in stores or at a lot of second hand places like a charity shop or vintage market.
Trays
A tray works sort of like a saucer too but it can fit more like your favourite products. You can get really pretty trays with different sizes depending on how much space you have (I have had my eye on a copper one (of course)!) where you could put on your everyday skincare or makeup bits or perfumes.
Baskets
Baskets are also such a cute way of storing your bits and pieces. Whether it’s for socks or magazines, this is a really nice way to show your things without looking messy or cluttered around your room.
Cake/cupcake stand
I love the look of having the nice things you’d like to display on cake stands (single tiered), especially perfumes. It uses less space than just spreading your perfumes out and looks really classy. With cupcake stands (usually three tiered), you could store smaller pieces like your favourite jewellery which is great for decor and is easy access.

Dresser drawers
One very popular way of keeping makeup are the acrylic drawers but I think when there’s a huge collection and there are multiple containers taking up the whole desk area it can start looking messy. Also, it’s not good for makeup to be stored in the sun which will happen if it’s on your desk top in acrylic drawers which don’t protect your makeup from sunlight. Therefore dresser drawers are perfect. All you need are containers which you can buy basically anywhere to split your things and then you’ll have organised makeup in your drawers.
I hope this helped some of you out when you decide to do a bit of de-cluttering!
